Former London Docklands Light Railway no.11 was sold, along with the other early build DLR cars, to run on the tram/U-Bahn network in Essen in Germany. Now 5211, the set is seen at the depot in Essen on 6 February 2003.

No bicycles this time: the 11:30 departure from Marienplatz to Degerloch on 8 December 2002, worked by Stuttgart rack tram 1003, is seen here climbing Alte Weinsteige towards the station stop at Haigst.Previous | NextSaarbahn tram 1010 has worked down from the new northern terminus at Riegelsburg Süd and is seen here departing from the Saarbrücken Hauptbahnhof stop on 19 April 2003. This service continues on to the main German Railways network then into France at Sarrguemines, so these trams need to be capable of operating over two electrification systems, 750V dc and 15kV 16.7Hz.
